I love the University Web Design listserv. Part professional resource, part support group; discussions range from straightforward design problems to process and institutional politics. The individual participants frankly just rock, too.

A couple of amusing unrelated quotes from Erika & Skip respectively:

Forcing valid code on people? Please! It’s hard enough to convince them to remove the dancing Tweety Bird! The amateurs’ ignorant shenanigans don’t excuse the code of “professional” web developers who should know better. you know who you are!
My slogan is “digital information wants to remain digital”. Printing is an admission of defeat. But until the rest of the institution comes around to the Truth As Skip Sees It, I’ll have to resort to kludges. Which is ok, because it’s usually the kludges that present the most interesting challenges.
