Unsaved Input

After an interesting discussion on unsaved input when switching views/pages, etc. I noticed Apple’s discussion board preferences serves as an example

The option to “click here” to save at first seems to offer the reassurance that Julie Stanford warned about but it’s also my only option if my next action is to just close that particular safari tab since the act of entering isn’t triggering the save. Jef Raskin seems to indicate that entering should commit saves which of course led to an undo/draft discussion.
