March 23, 2005IA Summit Sorting Out Social Classification
The panel on "Sorting Out Social Classification" moderated by Gene Smith with Peter Merholz, Peter Morville, and Thomas Vander Wal at the IA summit this year was interesting. I had expected it to be a bit of a rehash, but was pleasantly surprised. Peter Morville's presentation really added to the discussion and I seem to have a fairly decent recording of it [mp3, 19MB]. You'll want to grab the PDF of his slides if you want to follow along (and view the cure for apophenia).
I'm disappointed I didn't get the whole panel plus some excellent Q&A. Sébastien Paquet has good notes though.
